Walter Littleton “Pep” Stone, of Greensboro, GA, died Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at Augusta University Medical Center. He was 88. A lifelong resident of Greene County, Pep was born on July 7, 1930 to the late Joseph Ellison Stone and Nellie Evelyn Little Stone. He attended Greensboro High School and left in the ninth grade after his father died. He was one of six children and went to work to help support the family.  On July 29, 1951 he married the former Geraldine “Jerry” Hussey of Sparta, GA who passed away in 1994 after more than forty-three years of marriage.  For twenty-six years Pep operated a dairy farm working hard from sun up to sun down.

In addition to his wife, Jerry Stone, and parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Eva Lois Griffith, Josephine Clifton, and Shirley Walden; one brother, Clifford Stone; and good friend Rebecca Higdon.  He is survived by his daughters, Yvonne Stone of Greensboro, GA and Kay Von Alt of Monroe, GA; two grandchildren, Megan Green and husband Jason of Eatonton, GA and Jason Jordan and wife Hannah of Monroe, GA; three great grandchildren, Jase and Charlotte Green and Weston Jordan; one brother, Ed Stone and wife Fran of Estero, FL; five nieces; one nephew; great nieces and nephews; good friend, Jeanne Reynolds; a number of other relatives and a host of friends.
