Walter Patrick Guinn, 54, of Concord, IL, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.
Patrick was born on March 25, 1967, to Walter “Hoppy” and Renabelle Simmons Guinn in Beardstown. He married Carrie Dunkel on December 1, 1990, in Beardstown, and she survives.
Walt was an avid softball player, bowler, and roller skater back in the good old days. He happily supported his family through the years at factories such as Excel and Pactiv. However, the most important job was at the Beardstown Glove Factory, where he swept the love of his life, Carrie, off her feet. His love of music led to a long career as a DJ, providing joy to people at parties and weddings alike.
As the years went by, Pat passed along his love of music, movies, sports, and fun to his son, Braden. Once Facebook took off, he was able to entertain friends daily with his jokes. Always the entertainer, Pat will be remembered as the life of the party that everyone wanted to be around.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Carrie; his son, Braden; sister, Gloria (Richard) Crenshaw and brother, Gary Guinn. Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. He was preceded in death by his sister, Milissa; and his parents.
