Walter Michael Kozlowski, 93, died Friday, April 6th at Veteran’s Memorial Hospital in Rocky Hill after a long illness with his family by his side. He was born on June 5, 1918 in Hartford, grew up in Moodus, and resided in Cromwell most of his life. He was the son of the late Felix and Blanche (Gluc) Kozlowski.
Walter graduated from Nathan Hale High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served 1937 – 1941 as a 1st Class Fireman on the U.S.S. Craven DD382. He was part of the ship’s plank owners commissioned in Quincy, MA and operated out of the West Coast and Pearl Harbor.
