On July 28, 2017, Walter Madison Overfelt, Jr., 76, of Glen Burnie passed away. Walter was born on November 9, 1940, in Rocky Mount, VA, to the late Lizzie and Walter Overfelt, Sr. He was a Vietnam Veteran that served his country proudly in the U.S. Army from 1957-1966. Walter worked in the Aircraft Industry as a QC Inspector; a helicopter assembly/repairman at Hughes; an Electrical Lineman/Foreman Inspector for many years at Floyd S. Pike, Simpson Electric, U.S. Naval Academy, and he was a MD State Highway Inspector. He was an avid custom street rod fabricator, model boat builder, and automotive and small engine enthusiast.
Walter was predeceased by his devoted wife, Mary “Sis” (Bateman) Overfelt, his siblings, Daniel, Paul, George, Frances, and Emma, and his grandson, Madison. He is survived by his loving children, Gail Moscati (Vince), Sheryl Atkinson (Dan), Walter Overfelt (Eileen), Timothy Overfelt (Tracey), and his step-daughter, Robin Steyer (John); his seven cherished grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his dear siblings, Garland and Mary Catherine, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
