Walter LeRoy Gray, surrounded by his loving family, succumbed to Parkinson’s and congestive heart failure at 3:55 pm at Canyon West Health and Rehab.  

Walter is survived by his wife Barbara, his Son Clifford Gray (of Caldwell) and his two daughters Yvonne Carlson (of Caldwell) and Sylvia Hreniuk (of Spokane).  He leaves behind 3 grandchildren:  Krystal Gray, Alyssa Romero and Carolyn Severtson, all of Caldwell and four great grandchildren: Isabella, Malia, Walter Romero and Emry Gray.  Also surviving him are his sisters Mildred “Alice”  Barker (Payette) and Mrytle “Mickey” Grubb  with her husband George (of Emmett)  and Helen Cress (Lakeview, Oregon)  

Walter was born in American Falls to Elsie Mae Graham (Gray Shrader) and Chester LeRoy Gray During his youth he attended Adrian, Oregon and Caldwell, Idaho school districts and graduated in 1947.  After high school he served in the army and then onto the great lakes as a steam engineer for the Merchant Marines.

In 1998 Walter had a triple bypass surgery and in 2000 he contracted Parkinson’s.  Over the last five years he continued to always come to family dinners, soccer games, and the yearly family reunions via a special van his son bought to transport him with.  He always be loved, his legacy will continue to build and his presence will ALWAYS be felt.

To be loved is to live forever in someone’s heart.
