Walter Joseph Dillenbeck, Jr. passed away September 3, 2022 at the age of 58, after a long struggle with lung cancer.  Joey was born October 23, 1963 in Greenville, Michigan and grew up in Gulfport, MS.  He was a graduate of Gulfport High School class of 1981. He joined the US Army upon graduation and served our country during Desert Storm. 

While in the army, Joey received the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Star, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army (Retired) Lapel.  After his retirement from the army, he served as a contractor for the Dept of Defense in support of Missile and Aviation Maintenance. He ended his career as a Senior Electronics Technician with CGI Federal.

It was while he was stationed in Korea that he met the love of his life, Kumi Russell.  They were married July 8, 1994 in Alabama.  He was last stationed in Huntsville, AL where he retired and remained there with his wife of 28 years.  

Joey is survived by his loving wife, Kumi, his brother, Randy (Brenda) Green, his sisters, Teresa Brown, LeiLani (Lani) Dillenbeck, Lorelei (Lori) (John) Lauro and his father Walter, Sr., plus numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie S. Dillenbeck.  

He was loved by all and will be missed by all.
