Walter J. Stark , 80
Troy Walter J. Stark , 80 ,of Third Street died suddenly Thursday, August 5, 2004 at his residence.
Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Charles Stark and Sarah (Boushea) Stark and husband of the late Carolyn T. Daudelin Stark.
He had resided in Troy all his life and was educated at Troy schools .
Mr. Stark was employed as a machinist for Continental Can Company in Menands for over 20 years and later worked for St. Joseph’s School in South Troy in the maintenance department.
He was a member of Ancient Order of the Hibernians and marched in many parades and a member of the Troy Lodge of Elks, Veteran’s of Foreign Wars, Polish American Club, the Steelworkers Union and a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Troy. He was a Sergeant in the Army during World War II and an avid NY Yankee fan, never missing a game.
Survivors include four sons, Walter G. and David Stark and Michael G. Pratt of Pennsylvania and Timothy E. (Iola) Pratt of Rensselaer; a daughter, Barbara Pratt of Troy; a brother, Charles Stark of Cohoes; two sisters, Shirley Stark of Upper Sandusky, OH and Ruth Kratzenburg of Troy; his grandchildren, Timothy C., Sean P. and Shannon L. Pratt and other grandchildren and several aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Theresa Brundage.
