Walter “Gator” Staton, 48, dearly beloved husband, went to eternal rest on January 1, 2012, at our home in Pilot Mountain.
Born October 21, 1963 in Polk County, FL, he graduated from Hardee County High in Florida. He was a great machinist for almost 20 years and was employed at Atlantic Aero in Kernersville.
Mr. Staton leaves behind his loving wife of almost 6 years, Darlene Walton Staton; daughter Sierra Lynn Staton of Hardee County, FL; step-daughter Sierra Oxendine; and step-son Buddy Oxendine of Pilot Mountain.
Also surviving are his mother Janeta Shoffner and father Ray Wilson; sister Tonya Staton; brother Will Carrol and grandmother, all of Florida; mother-in-law Linda Walton; brother-in-law James Walton; sisters-in-law Cyndi Wright and Shannon Stirewalt; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, along with many wonderful friends.
