Walter Edward Rossum, 85, died at St. Alphonsus Hospital from natural causes on September 15, 2015 surrounded by his loved ones. Wally was born July 31st 1930, on his mother’s birthday, in Carson, ND. The youngest boy of 12 siblings, Wally was born to Kristian and Stella Rossum. After leaving home from Minnesota at age 16, Wally eventually moved to Montana with his brother Curt, before entering the Army in 1950.
He served in the Korean War and throughout Europe before returning to Montana where he met the love of his life, Ramona. They were married in 1954 and had two children, Jay and Gayle. They moved to Boise, ID in 1959 where Wally worked as a bricklayer throughout his life.
Wally is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ramona; daughter, Gayle; daughter-in-law, Carol; grandsons, Cameron (Xingrong) and Murray (Jennifer); and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Jay.
Wally was a kind man who always took care of his family. He was a good husband, father and grandfather and an example for his family. He will be greatly missed by us all.
