Hagerstown, MD – Walter Edward McCabe, Sr., 90, of Hagerstown, MD and formerly of Williamsport, MD passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born, August 19, 1920 in Passaic, NJ to the late John Joseph and Ida Holster McCabe.
After graduation from Clifton High School, he attended Technical and Engineering Schools in Michigan and New Jersey.
He was always taking classes to pursue his hobbies of woodworking, gardening, and stained glass. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing and traveling.
He was a member of Elks Lodge #378 Hagerstown, MD.

Granddaughter: Merrin L. McCabe of Fayetteville, NC
Great Grandson: Colin Rhodes of Hagerstown, MD
Great Granddaughter: Kaiya Rhodes of Hagerstown, MD
Great Grandson: William Rhodes of Greendale, WI
Walter was preceded in death by one son Walter E. “Skip” McCabe who passed away in 1986 from cancer at the age of 35. He was also preceded in death by all of his siblings.
