Walter E. Reynolds, 94, of Hanover Township, Northampton County, died February 7, 2015. Born on December 29, 1920, in Collegeville, PA, he was the son of the late B. Frank and Pearle (Swigert) Reynolds. He was the husband of Pearl (Koczen) Reynolds. They were married for 68 years in May. A graduate of Liberty High School and Rider College, he worked in the accounting division of Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 39 years. He was a WWII Army Air Force veteran, serving as a First Lieutenant. Walter served as a navigator on a B17 aircraft with the 390th Bombardment Group, 8th Air Force, stationed in England. He completed 35 combat missions in the European Theater of Operations. After hostilities ceased, Walter continued to serve his country in the US Air Force Reserve, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was a member of St. Johns Windish Lutheran Church. Previously, he was a long time member of Rosemont Lutheran Church. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and 50 year member of the Bethlehem Lodge No. 283 of Free and Accepted Masons and of the Lehigh Consistory. He was also a life member of both the Military Officers Association of America and of the Reserve Officers Association. Survivors: Wife Pearl; daughter Cheryl of Bethlehem; sisters Ethelyn Megargell of Orangeville, Columbia County, and Marie Rozinski of Berwick, Columbia County; nieces and nephews.
