Walter C. Maddox, 93 years, of Jacksonville, IL and formerly of Virginia, IL died Saturday evening, May 20, 2006 at the Jacksonville Convalescent Center in Jacksonville.
He was born March 2, 1913 in Virginia, IL; the son of Clarence W. and Delia Ellen Stanley Maddox. He married Wilma G. Epperson on May 8, 1935 and she preceded in death on August 30, 2002.
He is survived by a son, Jack Maddox (wife, Vickie) of Ormond Beach, FL; three daughters, Shirley Blair (husband, John E.) of Chandlerville, Lois Boston (husband, Bob) of Jacksonville, and Sandra Dawdy (husband, Jim) of Murrayville; 15 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; a sister, Rosalie Rose of Truth Or Consequences, NM; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, â??Dinkyâ?.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Violet Winner, and five brothers, John Maddox, Luther Maddox, Leo Maddox, Glenn Maddox, and Harry Maddox.
Mr. Maddox was retired Scott County Road District following 20 years of service.
