Wallace Antonies “Tony” Henderson, 53, of Elkhart, died peacefully at home on Friday, October 9, 2020.
He was born on August 8, 1967 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Clarence and Emma Henderson.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Ariel Henderson, and Tara Henderson both of Elkhart. Siblings, Peggy Henderson of Chester, VA., Willie Henderson of Elkhart, Dorothy Green of Osceola, Clarence Henderson Jr. of Indianapolis, James Henderson of Elkhart, Ray (Paula) Henderson of Atlanta, GA., Paula Henderson of Elkhart, Walter Henderson of Cassopolis, MI., Mrs. Barbara (Mike) Belledin, Steven Henderson, David Henderson, all of Elkhart, and Christal Henderson of Chicago, IL.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters; Barbara Jean, and Hazel Redmond.
Tony attended Elkhart Memorial High School and after graduating in 1985, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served as a Jet Engine Mechanic.
He was a lifetime member of the D.A.V., (Disabled American Veterans) Chapter #19 of Elkhart.
Tony was committed to helping others and served the community through outreach and activism. He founded Communities Helping Recovering in Strengthening Together C.H.R.I.S.T., Inc. of Elkhart.
He was a dedicated member of the New Vision of Life Church in Elkhart where he served in Man Up Ministries and valued a close personal relationship with his church family.
He enjoyed DJing at local events, spending time with his family, and hanging out with their bearded dragon, Shenron, kittens, Izzie & Chi Chi, and his king shepherd, Max.
For Tony, there was never a problem that was too big, or a solution that couldn’t be found.
He always took great pride in his care for others and was at all times a friend to anyone in need.
His was always the biggest heart, and the loudest laughter in the room.
