POER, WALLACE, affectionately known as PawPaw to most, passed away on March 25, 2010 at the age of 78, after a courageous battle with cancer and diabetes. He was surrounded by four generations of his family. PawPaw was born October 17, 1931 in Fayette County Alabama, and his love of Alabama football is surpassed, only, by his love for his family, and, of course, the beach. He has worked through the years as an independent truck driver, in addition to being employed with Gordon’s, and Budget Rent A Car. Paw Paw was a member of Berney Points Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. He has been well loved in his community as a coach, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his wife Lula Mae, of 59 years, children Mitchell (Susan), Dwayne (Allison), Judy (Mike), Kathy (Mark), and Karen (John); grandchildren Amy (Nathan), Erin (William), Melissa (Jeff), Emily (Scott), Kelley (Randall), Jessi (Matt), Jennifer, John William, Hannah, and Taylor Grace; great grand-children Abbi, Eli, Josh, Carter, Tristan, Isabella, Grady, Rosie, Jennings, with one more on the way. He is also survived by four brothers and their families, Lester (Katherine), Cecil, Woodrow (Christine), Douglas (Mary), as well as, a host of nieces, and nephews.
