At the age of 90, Gene took his final journey and was ushered into the presence of his Lord and Savior and greeted by his beloved wife, Ann, on August 17, 2022, at T Boone Pickens Palliative and Hospice Care Center in Dallas, Texas.
He is a widower of Ann Alligood – married on June 15, 1976, until her death on July 20, 2014.
He was born in Sale City, Georgia, on April 13, 1932, to parents Noah C and Flossie W Alligood.
He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, FRIED CHICKEN, AND SWEETS but was known for his faithful love of the Lord and his family.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ann Alligood, and survived by two brothers, Bud and his wife Elaine, Joel Alligood, his sister, Sarah Wren, and her husband, Jack. He was a loving father to his five children (their mother, Meryle Constance Alligood, deceased), Debbie Campion (Bill), Richard Alligood (Lee), Gene Alligood (Beth), Gale Pfeiffer, and Mark Alligood (Karen), and loving stepfather to Sharon Susavage (Jack), Joe Werner, Dawn Ferguson (Bill). Gene, or “PopPop Gene” considered himself incredibly blessed with 20 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
