Wade Nicholson, an original founding member of the Little Rock Church of Christ, Inc., was born April 17th, 1917 to the late Eddie & Amy (Williams) Nicholson in Edgefield, South Carolina.

He graduated from Schofield High School in Aiken, South Carolina.  He then attended the county’s CCC Camp to learn practical skills and various trades.  He later entered South Carolina State University.  While attending SCU, he was drafted into the United States Army where he served his country faithfully for three years in World War II.  After being honorably discharged, he returned to South Carolina State University where he earned a Bachelor Science Degree in agriculture.  While in both high school and college, he was a dynamic football player receiving honors and gaining recognition state-wide. 

Elder Nicholson was the oldest of 11 siblings.  Leaving to cherish 6 sisters; Edith Lanham (John) of Johnston, S.C.; Mamie Neal of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Victoria Trottman of Johnston, S.C.; Helen Roberts of Jamaica, N.Y.; Margret Browder of Forest Heights, MD.; Ida Nicholson of Johnston, S.C.  Preceding him in death; his wife Mary Ellen (Young) Nicholson; 2 brothers Rhett & George Nicholson; and 2 sisters Annie Mae (Nicholson) Morgan; Ruth (Nicholson) Thomas.

Also, leaving to cherish, two foster children, Christopher Ludd (Christiana) of Lakeland, Fl.; Dymon Morgan of Washington, DC; 4 foster grandchildren, a host of relatives, nieces, nephews, and friends.
