Wade Edmund Thompson, 72, died Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Grand View Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. He was a resident of Perry County, Alabama, and previously of Chilton County, Alabama. He was born and raised in Newport News, Virginia, where he lived his early adult years.
Wade was born April 24, 1944, at Buxton Hospital in Newport News, Virginia. He graduated from Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia, in 1962. In 1967, he graduated from Thomas Nelson Community College in Hampton, VA. He took courses at Christopher Newport College in Newport News, VA, where he was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa and performed in several of the college plays. He owned and ran Peninsula Builders for several years before moving to Alabama.
Wade was preceded in death by his parents, Isabelle and William Thompson and two brothers, William Irvin Thompson and Charles Reginal Thompson, all of Newport News; and a niece, Stacey Hoskins McKeown of Chester, SC. He is survived by his sister, Charlotte Thompson Hoskins and her husband, Larry Wayne Hoskins, Sr., both of Rocky Mount, NC; a nephew, L. Wayne Hoskins, Jr., and his wife, Rebecca Jordan Hoskins, both of Wilson, NC; and six great-nieces and nephews.
