W. Jay Decker, Jr. of Burlington Township passed away surrounded by his family on Monday at the Masonic Home of NJ at the age of 84. Jay was a proud US Navy Veteran who served on the USS Holt for two years during WWII. He stayed active with his former military crew at the reunions.
He loved sports, going out to dinner and staying up on current events. He served on Burlington Township Council, belonged to Burlington Lodge #32 F&AM, American Legion Post, VFW and Elks all of Burlington. He was a NJ Exempt Fireman from the Hope Fire Dept and was the former President of the Jaycee’s.
He worked in car sales most of his career and loved his retirement job working for Bergey’s Trucks in Pennsauken. Husband of the late Joan (nee:Bersen) Decker, he is survived by his daughter Sharon (Albert) Tentilucci, sons Gary Decker (Joanne Sampson), David (Sarah) Decker; grandchildren Dave Decker, Christy Baar ; great-grandchildren Destiny, Gabrielle, Emma; sister Geraldine Black (Glenn Stake), brother Blair (Judy) Decker and best friend Ann Duncan.
