W. Bruce Dowdy, Sr., of Burlington City, died Thursday August 24, 2017 at his residence at the age of 55. Born in Portsmouth, VA, Bruce was a longtime Burlington resident. He served is country honorably in the army as a medical specialist.
Prior to his illness, Bruce had worked in the construction industry, lastly as a heavy equipment operator for Eastern Organic Resources in Wrightstown. He was a member of the American Legion Post #79 in Burlington, the Burlington County Pool League and the Burlington Moose. He enjoyed spending time at the shore in Barnegat Light, loved fishing and gardening.
However, his greatest love was spending time with his granddaughter Alieza, who was the love of his life. Son of the late William G. and Ruth Kuslevicus Tracy,he was also predeceased by his sister Paula. Bruce is survived by his wife Nancy (Fine) Dowdy, his children Bruce, Jr. (Stacy Williams), Lori and Thomas, his granddaughter Alieza, his brother and sister in law Allen and Toni Dowdy, his lifelong friend Lisa Fiel and many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
