Vivian Swanson of Urbandale passed away on September 30, 2021 at Kennybrook Village. She was 96. Born in Illinois, Vivian moved to Des Moines with her husband Bob in 1950. After Bob died unexpectedly in 1976, Vivian continued to work as a secretary at Banker’s Life and Principal Financial Group until her retirement. Away from work, Vivian was an avid watercolor artist. She volunteered through various service organizations and church circles.
In addition to Bob, Vivian was preceded in death by her parents Hedvig and Reuben, and daughter-in-law Penelope. She is survived by children David, Karin and her husband Ron, and Kristin; three granddaughters and their spouses, and three great-granddaughters.
