Vivian O’Neill Crockett passed away on Tuesday Dec. 26th, 2017, but not before she had meticulously prepared our annual Christmas family reunion. After her aneurysm on Dec. 21, she clung to life in the hospital long enough for us to come together for Christmas dinner. The festivities concluded with her family opening the thoughtful and personalized gifts which will be treasured forever. It was her strong will and zest for life that sustained her active and independent life style through her 91 ½ years. She was selfless in her actions and always giving of herself to others.
Mrs. Crockett born on June 6, 1926 grew up in the cold farming town of Bayard, Nebraska. Her father, William O’Neill was a worldwide construction engineer. He later moved her to Brazil where she attended High school. Most of the time, she would remain stateside with her mother, Carol Vivian O’Neill, while attending Business College in Oklahoma. Vivian finally settled in Denver where she met Charles (Chuck) Crockett, whom she married in 1950. After her four children left home, she continued to work as an Executive Assistant for the Army at Redstone Arsenal for 20 or more years.
Mrs. Crockett was a stand-in-mother to so many outside our family. She was always concerned for everyone’s well-being. She was also a blessed caregiver to her mother and younger brother. Mrs.
