On Thursday, June 23, 2022, Vivian Lindauer Schmeisser, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away at the age of 80. Vivian was born on August 15, 1941, in Tabor City, North Carolina, to Luther Herman Watts and Vennie Waddell Watts. Vivian left Tabor City in 1957, at the age of 15, and headed south to Brevard County, where she lived and worked for the rest of her life. She began her banking career in 1958, at the age of 17, as a part-time teller with First Federal Savings & Loan Association of Cocoa. In 1962, Vivian helped with the grand opening of the Glass Bank in Cocoa Beach and worked there continuously until the 1980s, eventually becoming the branch manager. She then moved into mortgage loans, including several more stints in the Glass Bank over the next two decades. She continued working full-time in banking until her pancreatic cancer diagnosis in April 2021. Vivian leaves behind a six-decade-plus trail of loyal friends and customers…the names of each, along with remarkably detailed stories, she could recall in a split second. Vivian was an incredible storyteller, could read a person in just a few minutes, and cherished talking and laughing with her friends. Vivian and Bob Lindauer, Sr., raised one son together – Bobby Lindauer.  In 1992, Vivian married Greg Schmeisser and settled into their home on Cocoa Beach County Club where they enjoyed their view, pool, golf, friends, pets (Shelties, Keeshonds, and cats), and stories. Vivian was preceded in death by her father, Luther; her mother, Vennie; her half-sister, Evelyn T. Hoffman, of Swansea, SC, her brother, Harrell Watts, of Cocoa; and her brother, Larry Watts, of Wilmington, NC. Vivian is survived by her husband, Greg, of Cocoa Beach; her brother, Jerry Watts, of Cocoa; her sisters, Shelby Jean Green and Linda Van Riper, of Cocoa; many nieces and nephews; her son Bobby and wife Kerry, of Charlotte, NC; and her grandchildren, Sophia, Kade, and Vivien, of Charlotte, NC, who very much miss their Memaw.
