Vivian LaVita, (Carrafiello), 89 passed away peacefully at the Sawtelle Family Hospice Home in Reading, MA on May 28, 2019 with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Pasquale (Pat) LaVita in 2004 after 51 years of marriage. Also preceded in death by her Son Richard, her Granddaughter Tara, as well as her brother Eddie and sisters Rose & Francis. She is survived by her Sister Lillie Dyer of Portland Oregon and her two sons, Stephen and wife Donna; Peter and wife Carrie. She also leaves 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Vivian grew up in East Boston where she met Pat and spent the early years of their marriage. In 1970 Pat & Vivian moved their family to Melrose, MA where they spent the next 40 years. She was a long time member of the Sons of Italy and worked and volunteered with young children in the Melrose school system. In 2011, she moved to Middleton where she established many close friendships with the ladies from Ironwood Condominiums. She enjoyed all the activities and socializing around the pool with them. She enjoyed playing cards and going on excursions with her sister in law, Fran as well as all the shared memories with their combined families. Vivian lived a long and full life and was a devoted Mother.
