Vivian L. Frantz, 88, of 810 Louisa Street, formerly of 429 Rear Wilson Street, Jersey Shore, died Friday, July 1, 2011 at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
Vivian was predeceased by her husband, Thomas B. Frantz, on April 13, 2006.
Vivian was a member of First Christian Church of Montoursville. She enjoyed painting, drawing, knitting, crocheting and needle point. She also enjoyed large family meals at the holidays, summer picnics and spending time with her grandchildren.
Born April 30, 1923 in Shamokin, she was the daughter of Frederick J. and Nellie L. Kulp Hess.
Surviving are sons, Thomas F. (Linda) of Linden; Rodney B. (Gloria) of Muncy and David W. (Joyce) of Jersey Shore; daughters, Donna R. (James) Kennedy of Vero Beach, FL; Candice L. Walters of Allenwood and Robin K. (Steven) Lindenmuth of Montoursville; a brother John E. Hess of Muncy; sisters, Claire E. O’Brien and Norine N. Rothermel of Loyalsock; Betty L. Whyne of Jersey Shore; JoAnn Miller of Williamsport and Sandra Lee Giacomi of Old Lycoming Twp.; 18 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.
Vivian was also predeceased by twin sons on October 23, 1947, a son-in-law, Robert Walters, brothers, Charles F. Hess, Gordon L. Hess and Fred J. Hess and a sister, Virginia J. Faust.
