Vivian L. Cooley, 84, Galesburg, died at 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2018, at home surrounded by family. She was born November 25, 1933, in Elba Center, the daughter of Floyd and Vera (Adams) Brittingham. She was raised and educated near Yates City.

She attended Yates City High School and graduated from Roseville High School in 1951. Vivian married Robert (Bob) Cooley on November 20, 1951, at the First United Methodist Church in Galesburg, IL. Vivian served with Bob for fourteen years as an army wife. They lived in Colorado, California, Washington, Germany, and Wisconsin. She worked at Maytag for one year, while Bob served in Vietnam.

She worked at Gale Products for sixteen years.  Vivian was a member at Lake Bracken County Club for many years. She enjoyed playing golf, socializing, and vacationing with friends. She spent most of her time with family. She enjoyed taking care of and attending activities for her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She made each of them feel like they were her favorite. Survivors include her husband, Robert (Bob) Cooley, children, Mike (Lynn) Cooley of Massillon, Ohio and Diane (Brad) Wunder of Knoxville; four grandchildren, Jenny (Ben) Bredemeier of Galesburg, Jamie (Chris) Marks of Massillon, Ohio, Bobby Wunder of Davenport, IA, and Scott (Denise) Cooley of Dover, Ohio; 5 great-grandchildren, Cole, Emily, Ella, Max, and Scarlett; Special nieces: Marci Hogan, Alexis Hogan, and Staci Brittingham, and sister-in-laws, Karen Brittingham, Marjorie Osborne, and Beverly Hix and brother-in-law, Richard (Janet) Cooley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister and brother-in-law, Delores (Lewis) Henry, her brothers, David Brittingham, and Gene Brittingham.
