Mrs. Vivian Tozer, 92, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022.  Vivian was born July 9, 1929, in Dale, Indiana. As a young adult she moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where she met her husband, the late Rev. Dr. James R. Tozer. After their marriage in 1957, she faithfully supported her husband in the founding of Covenant Presbyterian Church in West Lafayette, Indiana, where they ministered together for 38 years and raised their children, Lynn and David. She was active in the ministry of Covenant and blessed many people with her gift of hospitality. In addition to their church work, Vivian and her husband spent time in L’Abri, Switzerland studying with Theologian Francis Schaeffer. The Tozers also led Christian history tours in Europe for many years.

After retirement in 1995, Vivian and Jim moved their residence to Michigan and lived on Glen Lake.  In 2006, Vivian and Jim moved to Huntsville, Alabama, where she spent her time investing in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and her church. She loved gardening, quilting, practicing hospitality, and spending time with her family. Vivian was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church USA and active member of the PEO organization for 60 years an organization which supports education for women.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, the Rev. Dr. James R. Tozer; parents, Forest and Esther Cooper; and siblings, Forest Brian Cooper, Elmer Cooper, and Mary Schum.

Survivors include sister, Doris Boyer; daughter, Lynn Frederick; son-in-law; Robert Frederick Jr.; son, David Tozer; grandchildren, Laura Frederick, Rebekah Grimes and her husband, Davis Grimes, and Anna Frederick.
