Virginiamae Dyson, 92, of Freeport, died Friday, December 14, 2012, at Stephenson Nursing Center.Born November 29, 1920 in Garvin City, Minnesota she was the daughter of John and Lila (Schaney) Mathews. She married Bernard G. Dyson Sr. on October 5, 1935 and he died on July 24, 1972. Virginia worked at Micro Switch for 27 years retiring in 1980.

Her memberships included St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Micro Switch Quarter Century Club, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary No. 998 where she was a past president for 11 years and district president for sixth district V.F.W, Women of the Moose, F.O.E. Ladies Auxiliary 679 where she was past president and secretary for 20 years, Past Regent and State Trustee of the Daughters of Isabella, and numerous card clubs.

Surviving are three daughters, Vivian Marie (Nathan) Gempler, Helen Jean (Walter) Lameyer, and Katherine Elaine Rowland all of Freeport; five sons, Robert E. (Nika) Dyson of Lockspring, Missouri, Ralph C. Dyson of Freeport, Francis W. (Gretchen) Dyson of Bailey, Colorado, John R. (Louise) Dyson of Polo, and Larry G. (Sandra) Dyson of Orangeville; 43 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Bernard; her brothers, John, Gene, Leo, and William; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
