Virginia W. Griffiths passed away peacefully  June 16th  in Caldwell.

Virginia was born June 3, 1923 in Newton, Kansas; the middle child of Charles S. and Rena W. Wisler. The family, which included brothers Gene and Tom Wisler, moved to Caldwell in 1925. Virginia called Caldwell and Greenleaf her home for the rest of her life. She married Ed Griffiths, the love of her life, in 1944. Together they reclaimed and grew their 40 acres on Notus Road to over 400 acres of productive farmland. They raised four children on the farm and patiently entertained eight adored grandchildren. Virginia continued to live there after Ed passed away in 2001 until moving to the P.E.O Chapter House.

They were both deeply committed to the Greenleaf and Caldwell communities, always pitching in where help was needed.  Avid pinochle club players with their neighbors, founding members of the Greenleaf Historical Society, they enjoyed their friends and neighbors.  Virginia served on many school committees, the local election board, and was a member of the Notus Neighbors Club.  She was a dedicated member of P.E.O. Chapter F for over 50 years.

She and Ed enjoyed many adventurous trips with the Good Sam Club, traveling throughout Idaho and beyond with a host of friends. They loved to travel both in the US and abroad.

Virginia loved to sing. She studied voice at the College of Idaho and appeared as soloist at various programs throughout the valley. She continued to share this joy of music throughout her life. Her love of music was represented by her avid support of the Caldwell Fine Arts Series from its inception.

She loved engaging in conversation about interesting ideas and exploring the maybes and what-ifs of life. She had a warm smile and vivacious wit that insured that conversations with Virginia were entertaining, and sometimes surprising.
