Virginia M. Saavedra, 86, of Silver City passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Gila Regional Medical Center.
Virginia was born on November 3, 1930 in Gila, NM to Cipriano Martinez and Angelita Lujan. Virginia was known by her loved ones as “Nini”. She was a very kindhearted person who would have done anything for her family. She was always smiling and loved the laughter of the kids. Nini was a loving wife, sister and aunt and brought joy to all who were in her presence. Her smile could brighten a room and quickly turn a bad day into a good one. Nini is loved and will be greatly missed and forever hold a place in our hearts.
Virginia is survived by her brothers, Cipriano (Gloria) and Joe Martinez (Maggie); sisters, Lupe Abeyta,Frances Medina, Patty Carbajal and Priscilla Marquez (Arturo); sister-in-law, Eva Martinez; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cipriano and Angelita Martinez; spouse, Gilbert Saavedra; brother, Silverio Martinez; brothers-in-law, Ray Abeyta, Abel Medina and Rudy Carbajal.
