Obituary of Virginia Rose Deeg

DEEG, Virginia of Saginaw passed away on Tuesday, August 06, 2013 at Cartwright Hospice Residence. She was 91 years old. Virginia Knapp was born May 20, 1922 to the late John and Mary (Liss) Knapp. She married Ernest O. Deeg on December 1, 1945 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Saginaw; he preceded her in death. She graduated from Saginaw High School. Virginia proudly served her country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She was a member at St. Josaphat Catholic Church for 67 years, serving on the Rosary Altar Society, and League of Catholic Women. She also enjoyed, sewing, and baking, especially bread and cinnamon coffee cake.
Surviving are: Virginia’s three daughters, Mary Deeg (Ed) Kowalewski, Nancy (David Lyman) Parker, Karen (Mike) Buse; grandson, Nicholas (Nicole) Vescio; granddaughter, Kathrine Buse; grandson Brian Lyman; and granddaughter Shana Lyman. Also surviving are great-grandson, Collin Vescio; great-grandson, Ian Lyman; great-granddaughter, Angelina Lyman; and Virginia’s sister, Delores Frank.
Relatives who preceded her in death are; a daughter, Joyce Deeg, and two brothers George and Walter Knapp.

MILITARY: Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of The United States Navy and VFW Post 1859.
: Friends are welcome to visit at the church from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass.
