Virginia Louise (Miller) Price
August 30, 1922 – March 3, 2016
Virginia Price, age 93, passed away peacefully at Viera Hospital on March 3, 2016, of complications following a fall.
Born in Frankfort, Indiana, on Aug. 30, 1922, Virginia Louise (Miller) Price was raised in Jefferson City, TN. Small town life was too confining, so she left home, met and married a tall, handsome sailor and never looked back. For nearly 70 years, Virginia was an energetic, adventurous, and devoted wife to Robert I. Price (VADM, Ret. USCG). She set up households at each duty assignment, from East Coast to West Coast and back again. She held down the home while Bob was out at sea, raised their children, hosted myriad events, was an avid bridge player, loved dancing and shopping, and never lost her Southern accent, sensibilities, or charm. She found opportunities to work in a wide range of paid and volunteer jobs, from office management to real estate to gift shop sales. During Bob’s post-military career as a ship safety consultant, Virginia accompanied him on more than one hundred cruises to ports around the globe. She leaves behind her adoring and dedicated husband, her two loving daughters, Andrea Price Stevens and Keven Price Chriss, four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Her warmth and outgoing personality will be missed by her IRCC friends and neighbors.
