Virginia P. Chieppo Sparano, 96 of New Haven, passed away on Nov. 4, 2015 at CT Hospice with her children by her side. She was the wife of the late James V. Sparano, Sr.; loving & devoted mother of James(Elisabeth)Sparano, Francine(Kevin)Turbert & Daniel(Caroline)Sparano;sister of Mary Cirillo, Louise Canelli, Margaret”Bootsie”Consiglio, the late Antoinette DeMetrio, Camille”Tommy” Passariello, Catherine”Jeukie” Davis, Anna”Nina”Torre, Angelo”Babe”, Louis, Luigi, Albert, John & Silvio Chieppo;also survived by 6 grandchildren & 5 great-grandchildren. Virginia was born in New Haven on Feb 19, 1919, daughter of the late Angelo & Concetta Mosca Chieppo, grew up in Wooster Square & raised in the convent in the 1920’s. During WW II she was employed by the U.S. War Dept. Virginia enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting & reading. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox & UCONN Woman’s Huskies. Her family wishes to extend speical gratitude to the staff of Verdi 4W at St.Raphael Campus, Yale & the entire staff at CT Hospice for their compassionate care of our Mom.
