On Thursday evening, October 13, 2022, our loving mother passed away to be with our Lord in heaven. Virginia was born Friday, May 4, 1928 in Albuquerque, NM. She was the daughter of Guadalupe and Clara Sierra and was one of eight children. She has one surviving sibling, Lupe Sierra (Annie). She was proceeded in death by her husband Manuel Castillo. Virginia is survived by her three children; George Castillo (Angelica), Carmen Castillo (Fred), and Clara Salas (Vince). She has seven grandchildren; Briana Cordova (Alex), Brian Castillo (Justine), Bethany Garcia (Jacob), Gabriella Salas, Rhiannon Salas, Arianna Salas, and Vicente Chavez. She has two great grandchildren; Giovanni Castillo and Everly Garcia. Virginia was looking forward to meeting baby girl Cordova in February. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her life was a gift and she blessed us all with her love, strength, faith, stubbornness and wit. Virginia was a great cook and made the best tamales, posole, red chili, and tortillas.
