Whitinsville–Virginia (Megerdichian) Leighton, 91, died Wednesday, May 13, in the Saint Camillus Health Center. She is survived by her daughter, Joanne Knapik, of South Paris, Maine; a brother, Harry Megerdichian, and his wife, Norma, of Dedham; a sister, Mary Bradford, and her husband, Michael, of Upton; two grandsons, Alan J. Knapik, Jr., and Eric J. Knapik, two great grandsons, Charles and Robert, and several nieces and nephews .She was predeceased by a son, Kenneth P. Peloquin, and a brother, Stephen Megerdichian.
Mrs. Leighton was born in Detroit, Michigan, a daughter of John and Takouyi (Ovian) Megerdichian. She moved to Whitinsville at the age of five. She grew up here and attended Northbridge schools.
She was an assembler at Data General for many years, and previously was a switchboard operator for the telephone company.
