Virginia May Cox, 74, of Caldwell passed away Thursday, December 7, 2006 of natural causes at a local care center. Virginia was born December 17, 1931 in Caldwell, the eldest of 3 daughters of Jocelyn O’Roke Gardiner and Lottie Eretta Newman. She was raised in the Deer Flat community near Huston where her father farmed and raised horses and dairy cattle. She attended schools in Huston and Caldwell.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Cox DuBose (Daniel) and Cindy Cox (Boyd) Kildow (Coonie); a son, Donald Cox; 6 grandchildren, Tiffanie (Cox) Smith, Heath Justin Boyd, Ronnie Aarron Boyd, Billy Mark Boyd, Tamera Lynn Boyd, and Sarah Ann DuBose; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy Smith of Huston; and 4 nieces & nephews, Benita Cherry, Mike Smith, Ava Bollman and Walter Bollman.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a sister (Nancy Bollman), four brothers-in-law, and a sister-in-law.
Mom’s unique gift was the ability to work with the elderly, understanding their special needs. She was loved and respected by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
