Virginia Malan Bacon Baker, 88, passed away August 16, 2022 in Farr West, Utah. She was born May 27, 1934 in Ogden, Utah a daughter of Alex A. and Leda Wilson Malan.
Virginia graduated from Ogden High in 1952. On March 5, 1953 she married Robert James Bacon. They lived for the first 9 months in a box car in Cobre, Nevada. Three years later Bob joined the Army, and they lived in Georgia, North Carolina, Texas, and Hawaii. They were the parents of 5 children Becky Bacon (Glenn) DeGroot, Scott (Barb) Bacon, Jerry Morris Bacon, Barbara “Bobbi” Bacon (Mike) Lane and Karen Baker (Jeff) Stevens. After 13 years of marriage they were divorced, but remained good friends until Bob’s passing in 2016
On June 18, 1970 Virginia married Tim Douglas Baker. They were sealed in the Ogden Temple on March 4, 1977. They were able to visit 50 temples during their 50 years of marriage. They enjoyed traveling and had been to Japan, Mexico, Canada, and several countries in Europe.
Virginia was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She retired after 25 years of service from the IRS and later from the Weber County School District.
Virginia is survived by her husband Tim, four children, fifteen grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and several special nieces and nephews.
