Ms. Virginia Mae Gray White, age 96, of Snow Camp, NC, transitioned into eternal rest on Monday, March 20, 2023, at Cambridge Hills Assisted Living Facility in Pittsboro, NC.
Ms.Virginia Mae Gray White was born to the late Hurley Gray Sr; and Lilly Irene Gray on February 7, 1927, in Chatham County.
She joined Pine Hill United Church of Christ at an early age, where she was a very active member as long as her health allowed her. She sang in the Senior Choir, and was a member of the Usher Board, for many years. She loved her church dearly; she enjoyed praising the Lord. She worked at Bill’s Grill in Siler City, NC until she retired, and she later worked part-time at Best Food Cafeteria in Siler City, NC.
She was preceded in death by her son, Calvin White; and three brothers, Hurley Gray Gray Jr., Joseph Paul Gray “JP” and Charlie Gray.
She is survived by her grandson, Delfus R. Mason of Fayetteville, NC; sister, Daisy Alston of Pittsboro, NC; two great-grandchildren, Shari Mason of Siler City, NC, and Quincy Siler of Sanford, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
