Our Mother, Aunt, Grandma, Great Grandma, and Great Great Grandma passed away on July 21, 2022, at Ogden Regional Hospital at the age of 101.

She was born in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Arthur Elmo Williams and Mable Alice Williams. She was raised by her grandparents, Richard and Bertie Filby, on their farm in Junction City, Kansas. She attended the University of Colorado. In 1942, she married Alfred Russell Dorjahn, and together they raised 2 children in Denver, Colorado.  They were divorced in 1978.

Virginia spent 38 years working at the Iliff School of Theology, a graduate Methodist Theological School adjacent to the University of Denver campus. Most of those years she served as the Secretary to the President of the School.  She retired in September 1991.

She enjoyed traveling with friends and visiting family after her retirement. In 1999, she moved closer to family in North Ogden, UT, however, she always hoped to return to Colorado. She enjoyed watching sports and was an enthusiastic Bronco and CU football fan. She also enjoyed knitting and made many Afghans for family and friends.

Virginia is survived by her son, Stanley (Elota) Dorjahn; daughter, Sheryl (Mike) Appleby; grandchildren, Georgia (Mark) Sharp, Sherry (Robert) Olmstead, Scott (Ian Baker) Appleby, Todd Appleby; great grandchildren, Andrew Sharp, Courtney (Mason) Harris, Caitlin Olmstead, Garth (Jenny) Olmstead, Dana Olmstead, Russell Olmstead; great great grandchildren, Charlotte, Madeleine, and Amelia; and many nephews and nieces.  She was proceeded in death by her parents, brother George F. Williams, sisters-in-law Zelda Williams and Margaret Blom, brother-in-law Fred Blom, and great granddaughters Korry and Rachael Sharp.

She is our family’s role model, was dearly loved, and will be remembered with great fondness.
