Virginia M. Dobson, 91, of Jacksonville, IL died Friday, January 26, 2018, at Aperion Care in Jacksonville.

She was born September 11, 1926 in Scott County, the daughter of James S. and Edith Pearl Wallace Jackson.

She is survived by a daughter, Clover Donaldson (deceased husband, Russell) of rural Ashland; five grandchildren, Steven Donaldson of Ashland, Kevin Donaldson of Virginia, Cindy Smith (husband, Jason) of Ashland, Michael Dobson of Midway, GA, and David Dobson (wife, Julie) of Indianapolis, IN; 11 great grandchildren, Shelby and Kace Donaldson, Landon, Isabella and Hudson Smith, Grayson, Jackson and Carson Dobson, and Lillian, Dylan and Amelia Dobson; a sister, Leta McNeece of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Eddie D. Dobson (surviving wife, Shirley of Midway, GA) and two siblings, Gerald Wallace and Betty Kriete.

Virginia was employed at the Twin City Dress Factory in Roodhouse and later worked at Mobil Chemical for 20 years prior to her retirement.  She enjoyed crocheting and cross stitching in her spare time.   Her favorite pastime was spending time outdoors hunting for mushrooms and gooseberries.

Virginia’s family extends a special thank you to all the caregivers that took care of her for 11 years and affectionately called her “Nana” at Aperion Rehab and Nursing during her long battle with Alzheimer’s.
