Ginny was born in Savannah, Georgia on March 6, 1930, moving with the family soon after to Indianapolis, Indiana. As a young teen she and family relocated to Paradise Hill, Saskatchewan Canada where she was introduced to a life of caring and giving. At age 17 she went to work at a local hospital working for $40/month plus room and board. She worked alone on the night shift, completing homework as time allowed. Eventually she assisted in the operating room during childbirths and surgery, often administering ether. Ginny also became a pioneer in penicillin injections.

After high school, Ginny returned to Indiana before meeting and eventually marrying Jack McGriffin. Together they moved to Danville, Indiana, adding Jack Jr. and Ellen to that population. Ginny returned to the work force and spent the next 25 years in sales and marketing.

Upon retirement in 1995, Ginny followed her dreams West to Grand Junction, CO for hiking, snow skiing, and snow shoeing.

When Ginny finally sat down, she was a huge sports fan. She was partial to the Indiana Hoosiers men’s basketball and football teams, the Indianapolis 500 Race, the Indianapolis Colts, the Denver Broncos, and her beloved Colorado Rockies- she always knew the line-up. You could also see her in the stands at local college men’s and women’s sporting events.

Ginny left life as she loved it… quickly and determined, surrounded by family and friends. She said shortly before passing, “I have lived a full and wonderful life. Lord, come and get me.”
