Virginia Lafaye Pendarvis born in Sparks, GA, has passed away comfortably at home in Melbourne, FL, with her family present on September 11, 2022. She was 83 years old. “Faye” was known as a loving wife, devoted mother, sister, and aunt. She never met a stranger and was a great friend always ready to chat with a bright smile and quick wit.
Virginia is survived by her husband of sixty-seven years, Reuben Earl Pendarvis Jr, their daughter Pamela and Brad Moore, Schertz, TX, son Timothy and Mary Pendarvis, Coral Springs, FL and son Frederick and Rana Pendarvis, Penhook, VA. She is also survived by her sister Marsha and her husband Paul Monti, Indian Harbor Beach, FL.
Virginia is preceded in death by her father and mother William F. Sumner and Sarah A. Howell Sumner formerly of Rockledge, FL. She is also preceded by her brother Bennie Rae Sumner and Barbara Sumner, Tifton, GA and by her brother Ethridge Sumner Tifton, GA.
Virginia was a devoted grandmother of six children and nine greatgrandchildren with numerous nieces and nephews who loved her and nurtured her all the way to time of her passing.
Virginia’s profession was a realtor/broker in CA and in FL. Her sales record for the first year of her licensing allowed her to be inducted into the Million Dollar Club. She later became a broker and helped many young up and coming realtors learn the ropes.
She was an avid amateur genealogist and served on the leadership team for the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) chapter in Brevard County. She enjoyed bowling in her younger years and was a frequent high score roller on various teams.
The family would also like to sincerely acknowledge and thank the Wuesthoff Hospice and Palliative Care for their outstanding support of the family during this difficult time. Teresa, Adrianne, Pastor Rich, and Trish your support and tender loving care of our dear mother was beyond measure in comfort. Your care meant the world to us during the transition of our beloved Virginia to her eternal life with her Father in heaven. Thank you.
