Virginia Lee (Myers) Wainright, 83, of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away peacefully, with her Family at her side on May 13, 2022.
Virginia is survived by her Husband of 63 years Dennis (Denny) and her children, daughter Marcella (Marcie) Patrone and grandchildren William (Will) and Michael. Son Kenneth (Kenny) Wainright, all of Boca Raton, Florida. Her brother Raymond (Ray, wife Evelyn) Myers and nephew Gregory of Shingle Springs, California. Preceded in death, her brother Thomas (Tom) Myers of Weaverville, California. Living nieces and nephews, Melanie Edwards (children, Anthony, and Sophia), Melissa (Brian) Doughty (children, Ava and Justin) all of Napa, California. Kevin Myers of Amboy, Washington, and Dennis Myers of Concord, California.
Virginia was born on November 9, 1938, in Des Arc, Missouri to Royal and Naomi (Adams) Myers. At the age of 3, Virginia with her family relocated to Napa, California where she attended schools in Napa and Yountville, graduating from St. Helena High School in 1957. In May 1956, Virginia met her future husband while she was babysitting at Dennis’ families homestead, Nichelini Winery in St. Helena, Dennis had enlisted in the United States Air Force and was sent to Japan in October of 1956 for two years. Dennis’ mother (Catherine Nichelini Wainright) realizing the “Perfect Daughter in-law Material”, suggested that Virginia, upon her high school graduation, get a job in Oakland, California and live with her and Dennis’ father Robert (Bob) so to keep her son’s future wife from the “Smooth talking’ Napa boys”. Dennis’s mother and Virginia became “Besties”, all the while Virginia and Dennis were corresponding via air mail letters.
Dennis was hired by IBM, and they moved and worked in San Francisco and then in Oakland where both their children were born, and in true fashion, IBM (nick named “I’ve Been Moved”) shuffled them off to San Jose. Then in late 1968, IBM offered an opportunity in Boca Raton, FL and what they thought would be a two-year assignment turned into a 54-year adventure in South Florida. In retirement, Dennis and Virginia would often spend their summers in St. Helena.
Virginia loved her “New” home and the town of Boca Raton, Florida. It was small like St. Helena California, very easy-going and always meeting new friends.
Virginia was filled with the Holy Spirit and truly exemplified Jesus’s teachings to “Love One Another”. She never met a stranger! Virginia loved and was so loved which made her successful in every endeavor in her life.
Virginia will be dearly missed by her husband, family, and friends.
