Virginia Marie “Jen” (Adams) Matheny, age 34, of Lost Creek, WV formerly of Doddridge County went to be with the Lord after a Courageous battle with Colon/ Liver Cancer on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 18, 1982 in Fairmont, WV.
Jen is survived by her husband, Jason Matheny of Lost Creek, WV; three children, Silas, Cadence and Ethan Matheny of the Home; her parents, Charles S. “Doc” Adams & Peggy Sue (Fisher) Adams of Doddridge County, WV; two brothers, James Hunter & his wife, Libby of Randleman, NC and Charles S. Adams II of Salem, WV; a sister, Melissa Burgess & her husband, Eric of West Union, WV; mother & father -in-law, Terry and Nina Mathews of Lost Creek, WV; two sisters-in-law, Tara Morrison & her husband, Trey of Lost Creek, WV, and Gala Pinkney & her husband, James Bridgeport, WV; two brothers-in-law, Russell Mathews & his wife, Michelle of Morgantown, WV and Terry Mathews Jr of Weston; several nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Jen was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James C “Dick” Fisher and Agnes Marie Fisher; paternal grandparents, Noah C. Adams and Virginia G. Adams; a very special nephew, Christopher Allen Burgess.
Jen graduated from Liberty High School class of 2001 and attended Fairmont State College. She was a Vet tech at Clarksburg Vet Hospital, Doddridge Animal Clinic and Mannington Animal Hospital.
Jen loved animals and had several she held dear to her heart. She was an avid reader and loved to crochet, sew and an excellent cook. She was a fighter and took Cancer by the horns and fought it head on with her motto: by Jesus stripes I am healed.
Jen was a member of Vermont Baptist Church in Sedalia, WV.
