Virginia I. Neal, 89, of South Jacksonville, IL passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.
She was born April 22, 1926 in Williamson County; the daughter of James and Anna Skobel Boling. She married James W. Neal in 1946 and they later divorced.
She is survived by a daughter, Jamie Stille-Smith (husband, David); seven grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Dona Rae Lawrence (surviving husband, Tom); a grandson, Christopher Huffman; her former husband, James Neal (surviving wife, Sharon); her fiancé, George “Gibby” Satterfield; and two siblings, Carl Boling and Peggy Gowler.
Virginia shared a close special relationship with her grandson, Chance Jackson-Stille, and they spent many hours together sharing life and travel experiences. More recently, Chance and his wife, Helyne, served as caretakers for Virginia.
Virginia was a beautician, owning and operating a beauty shop in Ferguson, MO before moving to Aurora, IL where she served as a special dietician and key punch operator. Along with her husband, she established Jamie’s Jewelry in Pana in 1970 and a second location in Girard in 1977. She would later assist her fiancé, George, with the operation of Satterfield Glass Company in Pana. She was a former member of the Marion Avenue Baptist Church and the Order OF Eastern Star, both in Aurora.
