Virginia Helen Straith, age 93 of Centralia, IL, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2015 at Heritage Woods in Centralia.
Virginia was born on April 8, 1922 in Centralia, a daughter to Austin and Thelma (Flanders) Owen. She married George Straith on February 14, 1947 in Centralia and he preceded her in death in 1996.
Mrs. Straith is survived by her children, Gail Wagner of Arizona, William “Bill” Straith and wife Leslie of Centralia, and Karen Schmitt and husband Jay of Centralia; six grandchildren, Russ Wagner, Joe Wagner, Stephanie Galetti, Jayson Schmitt, Megan Schmitt, and Christopher Straith; ten great-grandchildren; a sister Betty Qualls of Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Bill Owen.
Virginia owned and operated Straith Jewelers in Centralia with her husband. She was a member of Lady Elks, Beta Sigma Phi, Ceneca, and a past member of Meadow Woods Country Club. She enjoyed golfing, painting, knitting and spending time with her family.
