Virginia “Ginny” Tefft Kadel passed away March 9, 2009 in Camp Verde, AZ. She was born on May 31, 1943 in Lowell MA. She grew up in Montpiler VT. In 1955, the family moved to Phoenix, where Ginny graduated from Zavier High School in Phoenix. She then attended Northern Arizona University, where she met the love of her life Douglas Kadel. There she was a proud charter member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She graduated with a teaching degree in 1965. She taught in Tuba City on the Navajo Reservation where she learned to love her students, their art, and the culture. She had an extensive collection of Kachina and turquoise jewelry. To be with Doug, she moved to Long Beach to teach.

Ginny and Doug were married in 1967. Their first daughter, Cynthia was born the following year in 1968. Kelly their second daughter was born in 1972. While Doug served in the Army, the young couple moved to Texas and then Cleveland. After serving for their country, Ginny and Doug were anxious to move back home to Flagstaff. Ginny started teaching with the Flagstaff Public Schools after working at Little America. Ginny taught home economics at East Flagstaff Junior High School (now Mt. Elden MS) for 25 years. After she retired in 2000, she continued to manage their rental properties in Camp Verde and Rocky Point, Mexico. She also loved volunteering at The Northland Hospice thrift shop. Ginny was a fun loving, high spirited person, full of joy and life. She and Doug enjoyed hosting many parties and spending time with friends and family.Ginny loved collecting pictures, china, music, and items from her many travels. She led a very fun filled short life!

She is survived by her husband Doug Kadel, daughters, Cynthia and Kelly, son in-laws Christopher and Robert, 4 grandchildren and many friends.
