Virginia F. Dalegowski, 85, of Galesburg, died at 8:32 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Heartland Health Care, Galesburg. Virginia Frances Lee was born in Johnson County, Illinois, the daughter of Luther and Mary Shelton Lee.She married Gary R. Dalegowski on August 3, 1999 in Galesburg. He survives of Galesburg.
Also surviving is one son, Steven Brumfield of Manteo, NC; one daughter, Ellen (Tom) Fazio of Woodridge, IL; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Christie Kidder; a brother, Sam Pettifurd; and sisters, Lillian Marguerite Pilcher and Mary Elizabeth Mason.She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1947; attended the University of Nebraska. She was employed by Underwriters’ Laboratories and Financial Public Relations in Chicago. Upon returning to Galesburg in 1969 she was employed as Director of Patient Business Services by St. Mary’s Hospital, retiring in 1992.
