Virginia F. (Barnes) Craib, 83, of Upton, died Wednesday, June 15, 2005, in the Geriatric Authority of Milford after a period of declining health. She was the widow of Stanley M. Craib, who died in 1997 after 54 years of marriage.
Mrs. Craib was born in Athol, a daughter of the late John William and Florence (Chelifoux) Barnes. She was educated in Upton schools and graduated from Upton High School in 1939. She and her husband owned and operated Suburban Dry Cleaners in Upton for 38 years until retiring in 1985. She was a member of the United Parish of Upton.
She leaves one son, Stanley M. Craib, Jr. of Pelham, NH; a daughter, Pamela J. Allen of Northbridge; and four grandsons, Brian Craib of Winter Park, FL, Jeff Allen of Carver, Jason Craib of Greenville, NH, and Jonathan Allen of Ashburn, VA. She was the sister of the late Ruth A. Taylor, Richard Barnes, and Beatrice Taylor.
