Virginia (Ginny) Gwen Dahl was born to (Philip) Samuel Dahl and (Esther) Ione Freeland Dahl in Holdredge, Nebraska. She spent her early Nebraska years in Axtell (home of the Bethphage Campus of Mosaic), Upland, and Dorchester. Her family then moved to Lincoln where she graduated from Northeast High in 1955 and Nebraska Wesleyan College in 1959. On a blind date, she met Gary Charles Flack. He could dance a mean jitterbug and loved her true, so they were married October 11, 1959. Gary and Ginny have four children: Steven Kjell Flack, Susan Joy Flack (m. Kent Cattarello), Rebecca Ruth (m. Scott) Near, and Carolyn Kay (m. Dave) Gage. While in high school and college, Ginny spent a lot of time perfecting her violin and organ skills.
