Virginia went “on her final vacation” July 20, 2015 in Meridian, Idaho.   She was born September 24, 1914 in Chicago, Illinois.   As a young woman, grams loved bird watching.   Grams was an avid swimmer as she swam in Lake Mead every morning while living in Chicago before her 2 hour commute by bus to school.  Her parents moved to Oklahoma City after her father passed.  While attending college at Oklahoma University she met her future husband Clay Carroll, who was also a student and star football player for the “Boomer Sooners”.  Following graduation, Grandpa got a job with an up and rising company, C.R. Anthony’s Department Store, in Oklahoma City.  Grams was hired to be his secretary and also became a model for C.R. Anthony’s weekly advertisement in the Oklahoma Statesman.

Virginia spent a fulfilling independent life in that home until she was 100 ½ years old.  She loved animals; especially her wiener dog “Mandy” quite often called “Brandi”.

She is survived by grandchildren Brandi Shea Carroll and Robert Clay Carroll, born to Clay and Linda Carroll.  She is also survived by her great granddaughters, Amber Lynn Carroll Dyer, Ashley Brook Carroll, Linda Louise Carroll, and great grandson, Matthew Carlos Carroll.  She was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, and only son.

I love you Grams and will miss your ornery, stubborn, beautiful self.
